Kickstart your lovely day with an Eggette!

Eggette Pop is a newly open desert shop located in Kampar New Town. They sell different flavours of Eggettes (Egg waffles) and various beverages. Eggette Pop is slowly gaining popularity as they are known to have affordable food and good customer service.

Except the traditional Egg waffles, Eggette Pop's Egg waffles comes with special flavors such as chocolate, Green Tea and even Wasabi. After choosing your desired flavor, Customers get to choose what toppings they want to add on to the waffle. They have both normal and premium topping which costs RM1.50 and RM2.00 respectively.

These egg waffles are made using a baking machine similar to the waffle makers.

They only have three baking machines currently so it will take some time to get the eggettes ready.

Tadaaa! Finally our eggettes were served after 15 minutes.

Restoran Jia Kampar is one of the famous Chinese Cuisine Restaurants located at old town Kampar. The restaurant started its business since the year 2009. The restaurant serves as a place to hold wedding functions, family and friends gatherings. The restaurant is also a place where tourists like to visit and enjoy their food.

However, one of the highlights of Restaurant Jia Kampar is the egg tarts. This restaurant is selling one of the yummiest egg tarts at a stall in front of the restaurant. The egg tarts sells out fast. Customers can buy egg tarts on the pavement at the front of the restaurant to take away. In addition to that, customers can go inside to the restaurant and order to enjoy the egg tarts during their tea time.

Consumers can start to buy the egg tarts at 12 pm.

The egg tarts are baked without containing artificial coloring and preservatives. The egg tart is filled with a thick layer of egg custard and its sweetness is appropriate. Besides, its crust is fairly thick and it is baked until crispy. Therefore, the customers are able to enjoy the sweetness and great taste of the egg custard with the thinner layer of the bottom crust. The customers who have not tried the egg tarts before will be provided a free sample to try.

It was a good buy!!

Recently, we received many recommendations from Facebook, Blogspots and other social media about the Ice Cream Puff in Kampar. So, I decided give the shop a try. This Ice cream puff is located in Kampar, and the name of the shop is Paris Mini Baker.

Paris Mini Baker is exactly like a mini shop. This shop started operating their business since two years ago. Within two years, the ice cream puff became famous and generated a lot of profits. This shop has a long queue of faithful customers. Many customers gave positive feed backs such as the reasonable price and good taste.

Yogurt Puff

The variety of flavours.

They have two selection of puff which is Chocolate Puff and Original Puff. You can choose either chocolate puff or original puff, but I personally suggest Chocolate Puff. They will bake the bread instead of fry because frying would be very oily. They also include 8 types of flavors, namely Yam, Green Tea, Mango, Durian, Coconut, Cookies & Cream, Mint Choco Chips, Choco O Chips, Raspberry, and Vanilla Chip, which you can refer from the picture above. Out of the 8 flavors, the durian is the bestselling one.

They also have Yogurt Puff. However, the only available flavors are Mango, Strawberry and Durian.

We often hear of cream puffs but Ice cream puffs on the other hand is rare. What really distinguish ice cream puffs with cream puffs is the outer layer of the puffs are really crispy.

Often referred as Ban Chien Kuih by Chinese, Apam Balik is the Malay version of Ban Chien Kuih. Apam Balik is a typical Malaysian delicacy sold widely in night markets and it can also be a perfect snack for buka puasa.

Topped with sugar and peanuts, the Apam Balik in Kampar Old Town Market is quite remarkable.

Ingredients to prepare Apam Balik consists of wheat flour, a bit of salt, baking powder, sugar, oil, milk, egg, crushed peanuts with sugar and also butter. Some will add some cream corn.

The Apam Balik sold here is so soft and fluffy that it can bring back a lot of memories. We can buy a whole pan of Apam Balik and share it among family and friends. Besides, customers also have the option to add coconut sugar if they want to for RM5.50.

The business of selling Apam Balik started from the owner's father's time. Then his father retired and stop selling Apam Balik some 20 years ago. The current stall owner and his son then decided to reopen the stall.

Ingredients to prepare:

Wheat flour, a bit of salt, baking powder, sugar, oil, milk, egg, crushed peanuts with the mixture of sugar and also butter.

The pan they used has 80 years of history.

The shopkeeper, Mr.Chan and his family has been selling this "Iceberg"for many years.
From young until now, his business thrived and finally the ice-blended drinks has brought him much success.

It is located at stall no.25.

Currently, this stall is situated in Kampar Market Food Court which is also known as Medan Selera Kampar. Besides this huge ice-blended drinks stall, there are many other authentic food that are famous in Kampar.

This "iceberg" is well-known among tourists and locals, and has made everyone crave for it. It has several flavors to choose from which are Vietnam's Coffee, Homemade White Coffee, Mocha, Chocolate, Dragon fruit, Orange, Mango, Strawberry and Pineapple. See how special it is?

Its size is about 2 adults palm.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is only a few weeks ahead of us. While this much anticipated period of time brings upon joy and happiness, Muslims will have to complete their fasting obligations from dawn to dusk. To coincide with this festive season, GRUB N' GULP will feature 3 types of food every week to expand your options during Buka Puasa. Firstly. we will kickstart our food trail with "Roti Jepun".

Restaurant Karim in Eastlake is a well-known Indian Muslim restaurant which serves some of the most amazing local wraps or as Malaysians call it as "Roti Canai". The humble Roti Canai is made of kneaded dough and spread into a thin crispy layer. Among the frequent goers of this establishment, the popular choices are Roti USA, Roti Durian, Roti Maggi and Roti Jepun. They are also in the process of introducing their Maggi Goreng Cheese which is said to a trending dish among locals .

The Roti Jepun sells like hot cakes at this restaurant. Simply made with flour, cheese, an egg and some condensed milk, it sells for RM 3 and it is considered cheap compared to most indian muslim restaurants in Kampar . They serve almost 100 to 200 servings of Roti Jepun a day per week .

Restaurant Karim is currently owned by Abdul Rahman, or as his friends call him 'Man'. Man has been working there since the start of the restaurant on the 7th of July 1998 . And hence forth, every year in July, he treats his friends to a free meal to commemorate the opening of the restaurant in 1998.
